McLaren

This week on Exotic Cars Weekly I will talk about one of my personal favorite car companies and its new addition for 2016. McLaren was founded in 1963 by New Zealander Bruce McLaren and they are a British Formula One team based in Surrey, England. The team is the second oldest active team after Ferrari and they are one of the most successful teams in Formula One history.  In the mid 1990's McLaren transitioned from only making formula 1 cars to creating there first ever customer car, as a result they built a racing version of their F1 road car, the F1 GTR which won the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. The F1 was brought one of the biggest changes in the super car industry and by many is seen as the first true super car. The McLaren F1 shocked the world with its combination of speed and elegance as it held the spot for the fastest car in  the world for over a decade and was still street legal and available for purchase to anyone who was willing to pay its hefty price. Since then McLaren has been seen as one of the most exclusive and innovative car companies in the world. Since its first public release McLaren has since released six new models including their ultimate McLaren P1. The McLaren P1 is the sister car to the F1 and it sure was a ground breaker. McLaren once again shocked the automotive industry once again releasing the P1 as it was the first ever hybrid super car. McLaren has since gained a massive following. The McLaren P1 maxes out at a top speed of 220 mph and is priced at $1,000,000. Only 375 P1's have been produced up to date and since its grand release. For 2016 McLaren has come up with the new 675LT a new model of the 650s adding more horsepower, new teaks, a sleeker design, and an overall better performance. McLaren continues to shock the industry whether it be in formula 1 or on the road. Lesser known than Lamborghini and Ferrari this automotive giant will be sure to continue shocking the industry while keeping there legendary exclusive status.

  5. This car reminds me of the Porsche 918 Spyder. It has a beautiful make and great top speed. Although, I can't see myself spending a million dollars on a single car.
